Travel & Logistics

We’re so excited to see you in Seville and Granada! As part of your travel planning, we recommend that you purchase travel insurance that covers your booking for unforeseen events and interruptions of your trip. We also suggest purchasing refundable flights or flight protection.

Arrival in Seville

Be sure to set your clocks—in Spain, you’re on Central European Time (CET), which for most of the year is +9 hours ahead of Pacific Time, +2 hours ahead of GMT / UTC.

Trip Start

Our adventure begins at 10:00am on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza (see Our Accommodations) in Seville. We recommend arriving one day early to ensure you’re at our starting point on time.

Arrival Airport

The closest airport to our trip starting point is Seville International Airport (SVQ). Seville is well served by direct flights from all major European cities; however there are currently no direct flights to Seville from the United States.

Transfer from Airport

Private transportation is available from Seville's SVQ airport to our hotel through the concierge at the Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baezano more than 30 days ahead of your arrival. Contact the hotel's concierge desk directly to arrange.

Alternatively, you can arrange your own taxi upon arrival at SVQ airport. Taxi and shuttle ranks are located outside the arrivals area. Fares from the airport into the city cost 20 - 25 euros. Ride-share services such as Uber are also available, and will cost 14 to 20 euros into the city center.

Pre-Arrival Accommodations

We stay in unique, in-demand hotels on this trip—rooms go fast and daily rates change frequently. If you plan to arrive in Seville prior to the beginning of our journey, we recommend staying at Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza, which is our hotel and also our meeting spot on Day One. Please contact us if you are interested in staying in this hotel.

If Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza is booked, we also recommend Corral del Rey and Casa del Poeta, two modern boutique hotels close to Seville's shops and restaurants.

Departure from Granada

Trip End

We end our trip—after eight days of exploration, connection, and delicious food and drink!—in Granada on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

Departure Airport

The closest airport is Málaga Airport (AGP), about a 90-minute drive from our hotel in Granada. This is a different airport from the one we begin at, so make sure to book your outbound flights accordingly.

Transfer to Airport

After breakfast on our last day, Modern Adventure will provide a complimentary transfer to Málaga's AGP airport. If you would like to join this transfer, your flight home should be scheduled to depart from AGP at 2:30pm or later. If your flight leaves at an earlier time, from a different location, or if you are planning on extending your time in Granada, you will be responsible for arranging alternative transportation.

You can pre-arrange your taxi at least 5 days in advance by contacting our hotel, Hospes Palacio de los Patos, directly. Let them know you are traveling with Modern Adventure.

Post-Trip Accommodations

We hope you have the opportunity to extend your stay in Granada. If so, we recommend staying at Hospes Palacio de los Patos. Please note that any post-trip accommodations are your responsibility to book, and reservations can be made by contacting the hotel directly, and let them know you are traveling with Modern Adventure.

If Hospes Palacio de los Patos is booked, we recommend the well-located boutique hotels Palacio de Santa Paula and Santa Isabel la Real.
